Shark Tank Underease Underwear Pitch

Shark Tank Underease Underwear update
  • Entrepreneurs: Buck Weimer and Arlene Weimer
  • Business: Specialty underwear for flatulence
  • Ask: $55,000 for 25% equity
  • Result: No deal
  • Sharks: None

Buck and Arlene didn’t just step into the Shark Tank; they dove headfirst into a conversation many are uncomfortable having.

They brought their specialty underwear that traps the smell of gas. The sharks struggled not to laugh at the product.

They sought an investment to scale production and bring their life-changing product to a wider audience.

Underease Underwear specializes in undergarments designed for comfort, discretion, and performance.

The company offered a range of styles, including thongs, boy shorts, and briefs. Key features included soft, breathable fabrics, laser-cut seams for a seamless look, and moisture-wicking technology.

Buck and Arlene explained that Underease Underwear is made of an airtight material with elastic around both legs and a charcoal filter in the back. This helps prevent bad smells from leaking.

They told the sharks that they launched their business with a direct-sales website.

While sales exceeded $37,000 in the past year, they had previously generated over $60,000 in sales with extensive advertising. Each unit retails for $24.95.

Arlene explains that the sales have gone up every time they’ve had advertising and exposure.

Robert Herjavec tells the couple that the market is very small. He’s out.

Daymond John believes that the products are something that would be supplied through a medical supply provider.

Kevin Harrington joins the others in declining to offer a deal, while Barbara Corcoran said she’d rather have gas and wear sexy underwear than wear the product and she’s out.

Kevin O’Leary praises their efforts but also passes.

Eventually, the Weimers leave Shark Tank without securing a deal.

Shark Tank Underease Underwear Update

Shortly after its episode airing in 2009, the business received a significant media boost, propelling sales online and through direct sales.

However, our Underease Underwear update research found that the company is no longer in business.

After two decades of operation, the Weimers announced its closure in July 2021 due to financial challenges.

In a statement on its website, the company expressed gratitude to its loyal customers for their support over the years.

The decision to close was driven by sustained financial losses, making it unfeasible to continue operations.

This will be our final Underease Underwear update.
